Meet Michelle

Michelle was born and raised in the heart of Legislative District 2. Growing up in Cass County, Michelle spent her youth working in her parent’s small businesses in Avoca and Nehawka. Through her parents' example, Michelle learned the value of hard work and the importance of community.

After graduating from Syracuse High School, Michelle attended college at Northwest Missouri State University where she served as the editor for her college dorm newspaper. After returning to Nebraska, Michelle attended Southeast Community College and studied at the University of Nebraska in Omaha before returning to Nehawka where she currently resides with her two sons.

Michelle understands the impact everyday Nebraskans can make in their communities and is driven to do her part to improve her community through direct, tangible actions. As a working-class person and mother, Michelle is a strong supporter of quality public education, expanding resources, and empowering rural communities.. As a legislator, Michelle will push forward solutions that best serve her constituents and all Nebraskans.

A Note From Michelle: Why I'm Running

“I am running for Nebraska Legislative District 2 because those affected by law & policy should have a voice in the legislature. Through actively listening to my constituents and utilizing the knowledge I have gained from my own real-life experiences, I will introduce and support legislation that will make our public schools stronger, expand much-needed resources, and empower our rural communities.”
